Expressive Arts Therapy Event [Summary]

Watch this event recording to learn how to use visual, movement and rhythm activities to enhance our ability to self-regulate, as well as connect to others. Liz Athens discusses the role interoception plays in our ability to recognize cognitive, emotional and sensory states, and demonstrates a few simple techniques using materials that most people have in a junk drawer.

Materials needed:

  • At least two mark-making instruments (crayons, markers, pens, colored pencils)
  • Several pieces of paper, the larger the better, but standard copy paper will work perfectly as well. An old newspaper if you have one lying around is suggested!
  • Tape
  • A small flat round object, such as a coin, bottle cap, or piece of a board game.
  • You will also need a flat surface to draw on.

This live event was recorded on January 17, 2023.
