Cate’s experience as a mental health counselor has included an array of settings and treatment modalities from intensive in-home treatment for individuals and families, treatment and research for eating disorders to career counseling for college students and domestic violence counseling.

Cate is experienced in treating clients facing a variety of challenges and has supported and empowered them to address their goals and improve daily functioning. She prioritizes getting to know the whole person and deeply and values the unique relationship between therapist and client. Cate specializes in treating the LGBTQ population, eating disorders, trauma and grief and loss.

Cate’s methods include a combination of evidenced-based Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy,  Psychodynamic interventions and mindfulness and relaxation techniques based on clients’ specific needs.

Cate is under the clinical supervision of Joseph A. Zagame, LCSW.
