Psychotherapist in Training
Darshita (she/her) is a Master of Social Work student who believes that understanding yourself – truly and deeply – is one of the most powerful things you can do. Navigating that inner journey is something she is here to help with. She takes a holistic view of well-being, recognising that who we are, how we feel, and how we live are interconnected, and that healing one part can transform the rest. Darshita is committed to creating a warm, collaborative space where clients feel genuinely seen and heard, and where the work is always shaped around the client: their goals, their pace, and their story. Together, she and her clients explore what’s getting in the way and build toward a life that feels more grounded, more meaningful, and more like their own.
Darshita is passionate about creating an open, non-judgmental space where people feel safe to explore their experiences honestly. Her background in developmental psychology and clinical practice brought her into work with children, adolescents, and families across a wide range of concerns, including neurodevelopmental differences, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and complex presentations. That foundation gave her a deep appreciation for how formative experiences shape the way we see ourselves and the world around us. She brings this understanding into every session. Darshita approaches each client with cultural humility, recognising their unique lived experience, identity, and background, while grounding work in the client’s strengths and motivations.
She draws on a blend of person-centred therapy, psychodynamic and systems therapy, and evidence-based techniques, such as mindfulness, strengths mapping, and cognitive restructuring. Her approach is tailored to what works best for each individual, while always keeping the client’s voice and strengths at the centre. She works with people navigating anxiety, everyday overwhelm, low mood and depression, life transitions and adjustments, low self-esteem, relationship and family challenges, and women’s issues.
Darshita self-identifies as a cisgender, heterosexual, South Asian woman.
