Lawson Young, MHC-LP

Psychotherapist

Lawson (she/her/hers) is driven by the belief that therapy should move people beyond insight and into embodied change. Her work is grounded in intention, presence, and compassion. She works with adults and couples, exploring the patterns that quietly shape connection, conflict, and self-trust.

About Lawson

Integrating psychodynamic and relational therapy with Internal Family Systems-informed work and mindfulness-based approaches, Lawson brings a warm, emotionally steady presence to her work. By fostering safety and trust, she creates opportunities for corrective relational experiences, supporting clients as they reconnect with their inherent worth and develop a sense of self that exists independently of external circumstances. Lawson sees therapy as a genuine collaboration, grounded in self-reflection and care.

Her approach is further informed by her work as Operations Manager at New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, where she implemented trauma-informed systems centered on psychological safety and public health, and as co-founder of The Sappho Project, a nonprofit creating affirming spaces for women, transgender, and gender non-conforming creatives.

Lawson identifies as a Cisgender, heterosexual, White woman.
