Psychotherapist in Training

Austin (he/him) is a psychotherapist in training who is determined to be the mentor he needed when he was younger. By fostering an empathetic environment above all else, he believes the path to healing begins with strengthening the relationships that support us. He enjoys working with young adults seeking support in navigating the world for the first time. Additionally, he is passionate about serving those in the queer community suffering from burnout, body dysmorphia, religious trauma, and the idiosyncrasies that can occur when labeled as ‘other’ by society.

About Austin

Theatre brought Austin to New York and the pursuit of his MSW is in an effort to bring mental health resources to underrepresented target populations. He believes in a collaborative therapeutic relationship with clients to provide an environment in which they feel comfortable, safe, heard, and seen. He works to help people understand what role their upbringing has played in their development and how this informs their decisions and behaviors in adulthood. 


Austin utilizes a humanistic approach and a psychodynamic perspective, recognizing the importance of empathy, unconditional positive regard, and the exploration of unconscious processes in therapy. He hopes to aid clients build confidence, recognize what a gift their individuality is, and learn techniques to adopt a greater sense of peace as they navigate life’s challenges in the here and now.
