Does your family experience high conflict? Read this blog to explore how to navigate family tension during the holidays.
Compassion-Based Resilience Training is a structured way of learning the science and practice of mindfulness, compassion, and vision. CBRT integrates contemplative techniques from India and Tibet with contemporary breakthroughs in neuroscience, positive psychology, and optimal health. By combining skills that are taught separately in other trainings – including mindfulness, compassion, imagery, and embodiment – CBRT offers a step-by-step introduction to the full spectrum of current mind/body contemplative skills.
When: The group meets for 6 weekly sessions.
Who: The group is open to anyone interested in developing CBRT skills.
Where: This group will be held virtually on Zoom.
Cost: $300 for all 6 weeks. You may use your insurance (see below).
In this group, you will learn about and engage with these practices in order to:
No. This is a training in contemplative practices, not a therapy group. This will include group processing as new knowledge and skills are explored, but questions and sharing will need to remain in the service of the contemplative learning process. If you are interested in therapy groups, please inquire about the other groups at myTherapyNYC.
With a mindfulness-focused workshop format, each session will include both didactic and experiential forms of learning. This will include group processing and Q&A.
In this group, you will gain knowledge and skills to support a contemplative practice of your own. Mindfulness and compassion have both been found to support mental health and general well-being. CBRT has been offered continuously since 1998 at New York Hospital, the University Hospital of Columbia and Cornell, where its effectiveness has been repeatedly demonstrated in research studies.
Each session will be recorded and distributed to you. Although you are highly encouraged to attend all of the sessions, you will be able to view the recordings at a later time if needed.
We ask that you pay the amount for the entire series of workshops up front. If you require a payment plan, please ask about this during your phone consultation.
Yes. We are in-network for Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) and out of network for all other insurance companies. With BCBS, you will only be responsible for your copay for all attended sessions. For out-of-network insurance, we will submit claims electronically for you in order for you to receive reimbursement. Please keep in mind that you can only use insurance for sessions you attend live.
