Senior Psychotherapist / Clinical Supervisor
Don McCarthy’s (he/him/his) therapy focuses on establishing a safe and welcoming environment for all of his clients, right from the start. Don believes that this first step is crucial in laying out the foundation for a collaborative approach to therapy and in creating worthwhile and meaningful goals throughout treatment. Don uses various therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, psychodynamic, and strength-based approaches in working with his clients. As a former educator, Don also enjoys teaching his clients breathing, grounding, and other mindfulness based techniques. Clients can use these skills outside of therapy to help reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Don is interested in working with a wide range of people. He draws from his years of experience in working with adults, adolescents, and children in community-based clinical and school settings.
