Psychotherapist
Victor (he/him/his) believes that the first step to getting results in therapy is to have a therapist who you can trust, makes you feel understood, and who you can be vulnerable and honest with. Therapy can be challenging, frustrating, and emotional. But with the right partner in the process, it can also be rewarding, uplifting, and even fun sometimes!
Victor takes an eclectic approach to therapeutic modalities, incorporating psychodynamic and relational approaches with specific CBT, DBT, and mindfulness skills. He believes that exploring our past experiences and the ways we carry patterns of relating to people throughout our lives is the bedrock of therapeutic change, but that at times, it is important to focus on here and now skills in order to deal with acute crises.
Victor specializes in mens’ issues, substance use and recovery, LGBTQ+ issues, adolescents and young adults, depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship struggles.
Victor has experienced family mental illness and understands the impact it can have on a person and their loved ones. He appreciates that even the most challenging mental health diagnosis does not have to prevent anyone from finding a fulfilling way to live in and engage with the world.
Victor has lived in twelve different cities in four different countries and tries to bring a global perspective to the work he does. Sessions can be conducted in Spanish.
Victor self-identifies as a cisgender, bisexual, white British man and is sober in recovery.
