About Maryam

As a native New Yorker and second-generation immigrant, Maryam has fostered a deep understanding of how our identities and upbringing impact us. She brings a culturally sensitive lens to her work, recognizing the complex experiences that can emerge from holding multiple identities and navigating intergenerational or systemic stressors.

Maryam draws from modalities such as Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic techniques to tailor therapy to each client’s individual needs. With a background in creative arts, Maryam sees therapy as a creative space for exploration and meaning-making. She welcomes humor and other forms of self-expression to help clients uncover, understand, and gain agency over their stories.

Maryam self-identifies as a cisgender, South Asian Muslim woman.
