Bonelyn (She/Her/Ella) focuses on cultivating a non-judgmental, compassionate, and warm environment to help clients feel comfortable to come as they are. She believes that in being vulnerable, there is bravery, strength, and an opportunity for positive change. However, she respects the pace at which clients feel comfortable sharing information about their lives and concerns. She views her clients’ thoughts and perceptions as assets and prioritizes working as a team. Bonelyn always takes into consideration culture, identity, and traumas when selecting interventions to ensure she is sensitive to her clients’ lived experiences and triggers.
Bonelyn utilizes CBT, person-centered, relational, and psychodynamic therapeutic frameworks to support clients experiencing a wide range of concerns. She has experience working with clients with diverse backgrounds and can provide therapy in Spanish and English. She views being a part of each of her clients’ healing journeys as a special honor and prioritizes forming authentic connections. She has been credited in a published article The Relationship Between Racial/ Ethnic Identification and Body Ideal Internalization, Hair Satisfaction, and Skin Tone Satisfaction in Black and Black/ White Biracial Women.
